7 Days Marangu Route – Mount Kilimanjaro Trek
Climb Kilimanjaro via the Legendary “Coca-Cola Route”
The Marangu Route is the oldest and one of the most iconic routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. Commonly known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” it is the only route that offers comfortable mountain hut accommodation throughout the climb, making it a popular choice for trekkers who prefer not to camp.
Unlike the other Kilimanjaro routes, climbers on the Marangu Route stay in permanent wooden huts equipped with beds, mattresses, solar lighting, and communal dining areas. The lower huts also provide running water and shared bathroom facilities, offering a more comfortable trekking experience.
The Marangu Route follows the same trail for both the ascent and descent. It is often considered the easiest route because of its gradual slopes; however, climbing to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m / 19,341 ft) remains a demanding high-altitude adventure requiring determination, proper acclimatization, and experienced guides.
This itinerary includes an additional acclimatization day at Horombo Hut, greatly improving your chances of successfully reaching the summit while allowing you to enjoy the mountain at a comfortable pace.
