4 Days Safari to Mikumi and Udzungwa
Day 1: – Pick Up, Transfers and Evening game drives
You will be picked up from Dar Es Salaam/Morogoro and after greetings/introduction you will start your trip to Mikumi National Park via Morogoro town. This trip will take about 5 hours of standard driving speed with a
stop in Chalinze/Morogoro for refreshments and/or lunch. When you arrive at the park you will be checked in and taken to your accommodation within the park. After refreshing you will go for evening and sunset game drive and come back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay – Accommodation options at Mikumi Wildlife Camp
or Vuma hills tented Camp or Park Cottages.
Day 2: – Full day Game drive
On this day you will have sunrise game drive starting from 06:30 hours and come back to the hotel for breakfast at around 08:30 hours/or with packed breakfast. Will continue with game drive till lunch time whereby you will have lunch at your hotel (or within the park with packed lunch). After lunch and a little rest you will continue
with game drive in another part of the park till around 16:30 hours and that will be the end of full day game drive. In Mikumi expect to see animals such as Lions, Buffalos, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Zebras, Impalas, Warthogs, elephants, hippos and more than 300 bird species. After game drive will go back to the chosen hotel for dinner and over night stay
Day 3: – Walking Safari in Mikumi – Transfer to Udzungwa National Park
Early in the morning of this day you will have walking safari starting from Mikumi Wildlife Camp which is situated just few meters from the Mikumi Entrance gate. Walking safari is a great opportunity to experience the wildlife while walking on foot. This safari takes up to 2 hours and after the walking safari you will have breakfast and drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. When you get to the park you will be checked and start the climb taking the Sanje route to be able to enjoy the great view of the 4 stages waterfalls available only via this route. After trekking you will come down and drive to you accommodation for dinner and over night stay. See Accommodation options in Udzungwa.
Day 4: – Transfer back to Dar Es Salaam
After breakfast and refreshing at your lodge you will start drive back to Dar via Mikumi National park, Morogoro and Chalinze. When you get to Dar you will be taken to your residence or any where else you will want to be transferred to and that will be the end of your 4 days tour with Watu Safaris.
